What went wrong .? Coronavirus in USA
The last few years have witnessed the emergence of several new infectious diseases, and one among them is Coronavirus in USA. However, despite its ominous title, this disease is not related to any other virus. It is a strain of herpes simplex virus Type II that primarily causes fever, headache, muscle and joint aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. However, it may also be responsible for other serious conditions such as meningitis, encephalitis, and meningitis syndrome.
Currently, there are approximately thirty-two thousand cases of Coronavirus in the country, with about half occurring in children. Of these, about half are of international origin, while the remainder come from US residents. According to the latest statistical data available, about 25% of reported Coronavirus cases are of children.
Although the disease is spread through the bite of an infected animal, children are the ones who usually get it. Children who have not received adequate education about the symptoms and complications of the disease are more prone to develop the infection. Moreover, there are many parents who refuse to acknowledge the symptoms in their children and fail to bring the disease to the attention of the health care providers. This, unfortunately, facilitates the occurrence of secondary infections. As a result, the number of cases of Coronavirus in children continues to rise, making the condition extremely distressing for the parents and the children alike.
Fortunately, the virus can be controlled by using vaccines. One of these is the rotavirus vaccine that has been developed by the pharmaceutical company, Merck. This vaccine is currently being recommended for children between the ages of two to six months. The vaccinated children must also receive the hepatitis B vaccination between the ages of six to nine months, or the Gardasil vaccine between the ages of nine to fifteen months. Together, these vaccines protect children from becoming infected with the disease.
Another prevention method that has been developed to reduce the incidence of the disease is immunization. For some diseases, the immunity level required to prevent serious complications is quite low. For other diseases, like those caused by viruses, the immunity level is quite high and the incidence of the disease is often very high. Thus, immunization is one way to boost up the immunity level in children.
Some countries, like USA, have made it mandatory for school-going children to receive certain vaccinations. Although the number of cases has significantly decreased since the implementation of these vaccines, the disease still occurs in a very small part of the population. However, with adequate awareness of the risks and immunization programs, the incidence of this disease in the country is expected to significantly reduce. It is estimated that by the year 2020, around 4.5 million children will receive the vaccines to prevent Coronavirus in USA.
Currently, there is no treatment available for Coronavirus in USA. Treatment is administered only in case of severe acute infections. But, vaccines have reduced the cases of infection that occurred in the older days when large doses of these vaccines were given to every child. So, it is believed that immunity level is not very high in the country as compared to the rest of the world. So, it is suggested to immunize all children in the country, at least during the age of one year.
Although most of the children suffering from this disease do not appear to be in a position to pass any kind of contagious disease, yet they can be infected by other family members. Thus, it is better to ensure that the whole family members are properly immunized against this disease. Moreover, there are several vaccinations against other diseases that are being developed. These vaccines will increase the protective level for all family members against Coronavirus in USA.
